O Holy Night

Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining
This is the night, of the dear Saviour's birth
Long lived the world, in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt his worth

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
Oh Night Divine, Oh night, when Christ was born
Oh Night Divine, Oh night, Oh night divine!

Tuesday, January 15, 2008 - dont wait! start now! :

hi everyone

there was something i think the Lord was speaking to me on the most recent Chaplin's Hour that i would like to share. but first let me give some intro first. Chaplin's hour is a time every term when every christian (optional) meet up and worship the Lord and hear God's word through the Chaplin. Ok let me start...

You know for the song "Now that you're near" by hillsongs i think, singing that song would most suit the auidence/worshippers clapping. so i felt very awkard that there was no clapping. then i looked around and i saw this lower sec boy wanting to clap, but think too afraid, so clap as silently as possible. so i just took the lead and start clapping (louder)and everyone followed. [k those who went may argued tt someone at the other end start the clapping...IT DOESNT MATTER...]yup so this incident kept me thinking. and thinking. and thinking. and i thought of 3 points i would like to share with you:
1) clapping = evanglism. Speading the gospel to the non-believers is our purpose of our lives on earth, our responsibility.. We would be rather out of place, and awkard if we dont fufill our purpose, even worse we could feel worthless and useless.
2) Spreading the gospel is like a virus (good one, that is). It would catch on anyone. You would feel like you are on fire and just want to share your ever-burning passion for God to other non-believers.
3)*** the point i want to emphasise most*** when no one clapped, when no one took the lead to start clapping, the people in the hall must be thinking, why not let someone else start the clapping? i'll wait for someone to start clapping. even worse, why not let the other person do the clapping for me? this applies in standing up for God and evanglism too. why not let this someone preach the gospel to the non-christians on behalf of the christians, so that you wouldnt feel so burdened and irresponsible. or in the case of standing up for God, why not let the goody goody boy over there stand up for God first? then if he does I will follow him. CHRISTIANS!!! WE ARE ASKED TO BE THE SALT AND LIGHT OF THE WORLD, NOT THE FOLLOWER!!! we are asked to be the leader, to lead a non-believer to christ, and not follow someone or wait for someone to take the lead. IT WILL NEVER COME!
4) just 1 verse im sure everyone is familiar with and can very well summarise my point here. "If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels." Luke 9:26

God bless.
