Re: Oprah's Big Lie
:
PERSON A SENT:
Do you know about Oprah Winfrey's concept on Jesus and God? If you are a fan of Oprah, you are in for a disturbing shock. She claims that Jesus is'nt the only way to God, and that we are our own God. Take time to view these videos and pray for the millions who are falling into her trap.

2 Corinthians 11:3 (New International Version)
3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
PERSON B REPLIED:
Yea, I heard about this a while ago.
But personally, I would find it disappointing if Christians continues to condemn Oprah Winfrey, who is indeed promoting New Age belief. On another hand, Christians should rejoice because Oprah is a good person, she is helping the needy. We should not condemn her, not quick to judge her even though she is non-believer. We should be like Jesus, who never condemn non-believers but don’t like the religious person, The Pharisees - who quick to condemn non-believers.
I've heard about "Pharisees-like Christians" telling non-believers and the unchurched that Oprah Winfrey shows are demonic. And they warn them to never watch them, or the non-believers and the unchurched would be demonized and burn in hell! Like this, how would non-believers convert? They would feel that Christians are quick to judge and condemn. I have a friend who refuses to come to Christ, the reason is simply because some "Pharisees-like Christians" visited his house and condemn his religious practices.
According to research in the US,
87% of the unchurched don't want to go to church because they find church people judgemental.
So, in order to make the unchurched come to church, we got to stop judging and condemning, especially non-believers.
Yes, Oprah is promoting New Age belief, but we need not necessarily broadcast our views. (:
MY VIEW:-):
Indeed God told us not to judge the people around us, but out of love for the readers (who are both christians and non-christians) and probably oprah if she ever stumble upon this email that we should highlight this matter. Oprah, being a very influential person, can cause many of her viewers to stumble upon their faith (if their christians) and cause them to believe in a false truth aka lie (for everyone).
We as Christians should always stand up for what is right and condemn for what is false right? If the creator of this chain email did not send this email, we (at least for me) would still be unaware of the happenings that is going on with the media. This email, who knows, might have caused some people to be more weary on what they see, listen, hear from the media and to think about "all things are permissible, but not all are beneficial".
I believe that the creator did not want to judge and condemn her, but just to inform the readers to be more careful about what the world offers us. But if this creator of this email actually does judge and condemn her, i believe he has reasons to and I agree with his intentions. The Bible says "And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." Matt 18:5-6.
And btw, I cant really agree with the statement you made "On another hand, Christians should rejoice because Oprah is a good person, she is helping the needy." Firstly, no man on Earth is good. It says in Romans 3:9-18 that no one is righteous and in 3:23 the famous verse that all have fallen short of the glory of God. And since she is believing in the false truth, could she be giving out of her own satisfaction or our love? If the reason behind it is wrong then there is no meaning of her action. So my first point is generous =/= good. Secondly, the Bible says "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." Matt 6:1. But since she doesnt believe in Christianity, then it may not be so applicable.
Yup. Just my opinion. Cheers.
